Heritage science is cross-disciplinary scientific research of cultural heritage. It encompasses research enabling access to cultural heritage, its conservation, interpretation and management. The Department of Bible, Archaeology and the Ancient Near East at Ben Gurion University of the Negev is holding a postgraduate academic program and a research center, dedicated to the study of materials in archaeology and art and to conservation science. The combined academic program and laboratories are now part of the ARchaeological and Cultural Heritage MATerials science (ARCHMAT) consortium of European universities holding both MA and PhD programs in heritage science.
